Item Description
This is a gorgeous, totally transparent (read-through!) plate of intergrown cubes of lustrous, rich emerald-green fluorite crystals to 6 cm (over 2 inches!) on a side. That size is HUGE for this locality and the piece overall is also of good size. One rarely sees such large specimens from this place in good shape, and this one is nearly pristine at that. At 5 mm depth there is a thin purple line of color zoning inside most cubes. At one end of the specimen are two, milky white quartz crystals, to 1.8 cm in length, as a cute accent (also not commonly seen here). The color and clarity is mesmerizing and visible with NO backlighting even needed. With even moderate backlighting, the piece positively glows and just monopolizes the light where we had it set on a back shelf. While material from this locality is common enough on the market now, specimens of this size and magnitude date to older finds of the 1980s that are generally note on the market. Valued $2000-2500.
