Fluorite included with Boulangerite (rare)

Item Description

A fine quality and rare combination specimen from the famed Yaogangxian Mine in China. Thin, acicular, metallic silvery-grey colored Boulangerite needles are included in a glassy and highly transparent, pale blue cubic crystal of Fluorite, showing a very soft blue color. Boulangerite is a rare lead antimony sulfosalt mineral, which is found in ore deposits, and there are only a handful of localities in the world where it is found in association with Fluorite. I think it's safe to say that the Yaogangxian Mine is the most well-known locality for the combo of these two minerals, but it has the added distinction of the Boulangerite crystals being included inside of the Fluorites, creating a truly captivating effect. You don't typically see metallic minerals included inside of Fluorite like this, and the fact that the Fluorite crystal on this specimen is fine quality to boot makes the piece all the more enticing.
