Fluorite in Quartz cast after Fluorite

Item Description

The Rock Candy Mine is well-known for its Quartz-coated octahedral Fluorites. But a piece like this, is uncommon! The white Quartz in this case is sparkly and drusy, and clearly reflects the shape of the original green Fluorites upon which it formed as a cast. When seen from below, you can appreciate the remains of the etched, gemmy green Fluorites seen nestled within the Quartz cast. Amazingly, some fluorite still remains, too. An interesting, attractive, and representative specimen from a good locality.
