Item Description
One of the famous "ice cube" colorless Fluorite specimens from Dal'negorsk featuring a few cubes measuring up to 1.1 cm with SUPERB gemminess and that classic colorless hue that is seen in these specimens. The lack of color actually means this is chemically pure Fluorite, as any kind of color is a sign of impurities / chromophores. The Fluorites are sitting on a matrix composed of jet black Sphalerite with minor accenting Muscovite (?). The piece is in pretty good shape, with just a little damage that I can see with the naked eye, and the main Fluorite is so beautifully set atop the specimen for wonderful aesthetics. From a prominent Midwest collection that we acquired several months ago.
