Fluorite & Hyalite Opal on Quartz

Very gemmy and lustrous, unique green fluorite octahedrons, to 3.0 cm, are dramatically set on quartz crystal matrix on the front of this large, aesthetic and unusual narrow two-sided rib from recent finds at Riemvasmaak. The back is totally covered with quartz crystals, except for the back of the striking 3.0 cm doubly terminated octo. The fluorites have bright purple fluorescence under LW UV light. SW UV light shows a surprise on the back! Much of back is covered with a druse of hyalite opal, that glows with neon-green color under SW UV. There are only a couple of spots on the front with hyalite opal. The fluorites are pristine and the noted periphery wear has minimal impact to the high quality of this unusual two-sided combination piece. The fluorites are exceptionally gemmy for the locale. Valued at $1500. These are contemporary classics.
