Fluorite (highly modified crystals) with Milky Quartz (ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection)

A lovely three-dimensional specimen comprising complex / modified crystals of Fluorite which are predominantly octahedral in their shape, but show hundreds of tiny modifying faces including cube, octahedron, dodecahedron and tetrahexahedron. Honestly, if you're a fan of morphology, this piece has some REALLY cool faces on it! The Fluorites have a gentle "water" green color to them in certain lighting, and they are not quite as silvery as they might appear in the photos. The piece has excellent form and aesthetics with a beautifully contrasting accenting of milky white Quartz prisms. There is a very thin layer of matrix on the piece, but it's crystallized all the way around, with no real damage to speak of that I can see with the naked eye. It's hard to convey in the photos, but virtually every Fluorite crystal is WATER CLEAR! We had this one priced at $1,300 in the inventory. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection.
