Item Description
A rarely seen specimen from the Monarch Mine in Arizona featuring sharp octahedral crystal of Fluorite measuring up to 1.3 cm across sitting on matrix. The exterior of the Fluorites has a white hue, which I believe is either a coating of Quartz or a secondary deposition of white Fluorite. One of the broken Fluorites shows a gemmy green interior, so I'm assuming they all look like this inside. Of the bigger Fluorites actually has a bit of a purple coloring on a couple faces. Good condition all around, with only a bit of damage. If you collect Fluorites ore Arizona minerals, these are highly desirable and virtually impossible to find on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12449). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
