These iconic and celebrated contemporary Fluorite specimens from the Diana Maria Mine inside the Rogerley Mine (Quarry) are some of the most recognized examples of the species extant. The number of fine quality display specimens that have come out over the last couple decades provided collectors with a great opportunity to own fantastic Fluorites from one of the most prestigious lead and iron mining districts that dates back to the 13th century! The vivid green color combined with the textbook cubic crystallization and showy display specimens make them highly desirable for collectors. This piece features a few very sharp, lustrous, well-formed, rich green color, gemmy cubic crystals measuring up to 2.1 cm on edge, with contrasting white Aragonite on matrix. The crystals range from virtually WATER-CLEAR to more of a translucent quality on the smaller cubes. The transparent crystals show purple daylight fluorescence in sunlight, like many crystals from this locality. Like many pieces from this locality, this piece features the classic penetration twinning for which this material is known. The twinning takes place on a cube diagonal axis and is very distinctive.
