Item Description

A classic example of the famous Rogerley Mine Fluorites featuring a prominent interpenetrant twin (on a cube-diagonal twinning axis) cube surrounded by dozens of additional Fluorite crystals on matrix. The largest Fluorite cube measures 9 mm on edge. The crystals are very sharp, well-formed and quite gemmy in areas showing that beautiful "Rogerley green" color indoors which shifts to the classic purple daylight fluorescence in sunlight. Some of the crystals feature golden-brown inclusions of what I believe to be pocket clay as well. Most of the crystals are undamaged, but there are some contacts here and there. You can't deny that these are among the most well-known Fluorites of the modern age of mineral collecting, and they are as beautiful as anything from Weardale.
