Item Description
The beautiful and esteemed contemporary Fluorite specimens from the Diana Maria Mine (inside the Rogerley Mine / Quarry) are some of the most recognized examples of the species extant. The wealth of showy and colorful specimens that have come out over the last couple decades provided collectors with a great opportunity to own fantastic Fluorites from one of the most prestigious lead and iron mining districts that dates back to the 13th century! The vivid green color combined with the textbook cubic crystallization and showy display specimens make them highly desirable for collectors. This piece features good-sized sharp, lustrous, well-formed, rich green color, penetration twinned cubic crystals, with individual crystals measuring up to 2.3 cm on edge, associated with snow white contrasting Aragonite on matrix. The crystals range from virtually WATER-CLEAR to more of a translucent quality towards the center. The transparent crystals show purple daylight fluorescence in sunlight, like many crystals from this locality. No major damage and very attractive in person with larger than average sized crystals for the locality. From the "Queen of Green" Pocket. Valued $1,800.
