Item Description

From the Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia, here we have a nice group of VERY GEMMY, purple and colorless octahedral crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 3.8 cm associated with minor Lollingite and freee of matrix. The Fluorites are excellent quality with near WATER CLEAR transparency in areas, but it must be noted that the main crystal has an area of is not fully crystallized along the front edge. I don't consider this damage, but rather a bit of interrupted growth that took place while the piece was growing underground. The piece is still in decent shape, but it's not complete on the base / back where it was removed from the pocket wall. A pretty good represenation of this lesser seen material from this highly productive locality. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection.
