Fluorite (gemmy ''phantom'' crystals)

A beautiful small cabinet sized piece of classic purple cubic Fluorite crystals from the world famous locality at Berbes. The Fluorites on this specimen are excellent, sharp, classic, gemmy, lustrous, fine purple color, "phantom" cubic crystals with slight dodecahedral modifications on the edges. The largest Fluorite on this piece measures 6.5 cm on edge and nearly all of them are pristine, but the periphery / back of the piece is incomplete where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. If you look closely on the back, you can see that some of the crystals are actually not broken but have re-crystallized ("re-healed"), so the piece is actually in very good condition all around. These are some of the most desirable Fluorites in the world, and this one is both fun to view up close and across the room in your mineral case. No matrix to speak of, but you don't need it since the piece is so showy and three-dimensional. Priced at $5,500 in the inventory.
