Item Description
These are some of the most eye-catching and desirable green Fluorites to come out of any locality in decades. They have a quite unique green color that is distinctive from Fluorites from other localities, with notably sharp octahedral form. This beautiful cabinet sized features well-formed, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, strong green color octahedral crystals measuring up to 3.8 cm at their longest dimension. There is no matrix on the back, but if you flip the piece over, you'll see there's a color transition into a smoky-grey and purple hue of Fluorite around the "core" of the specimen. The front of the piece features a partial coating of attractive "sugary" / drusy Quartz crystals for a very nice touch. I love the color that comes through when the crystals are backlit. The piece is in great shape overall, and it's obviously contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. Valued in the inventory at $4,000 retail. Ex Carl Hoffstredder Collection.
