Item Description
The Xianghuapu Mine is one of the most famous Fluorite producers in China as has become renowned for its amazing gemmy green crystals. This piece features predominantly cubic Fluorites, which are notably gemmy, with sharp, smooth faces. The largest Fluorite measures 2.7 cm on edge, but if you look closely you can see that these cubes are actually growing on top of a previous generation of green Fluorite composed of highly modified groups in octahedral orientations. The back of the piece has a thin selective deposition of sugary white Quartz that creates a lovely contrast, that actually grew between the time of the two Fluorite generations. For the most part, the majority of the crystals are in good shape, though there are a few contacts I can see. Obviously the base of the piece is contacted where it was removed from the pocket wall. If you're a fan of Fluorites or Chinese minerals, this is something that we don't see much on the market anymore, and would make a fine addition, especially for at a bargain value. Priced in our inventory at $1,500.
