Item Description
I would say that the best Fluorite crystals from Chumar Bakhoor are some of the most attractive, highly displayable and sought after Fluorite specimens from any locality, especially in contemporary mining. This renowned pegmatite deposit near Nagar is probably best known for its wonderful Aquamarine crystals, but the Fluorites are a personal favorite of mine. This wonderful small cabinet sized piece was mined in the mid 1990s, and features very gemmy, sharp, modified octahedral crystals with a pale green color, free of matrix. Minor bladed silvery-bronze Muscovite can be seen on the piece as well. When backlit, you can see the wonderful internal gemminess of the Fluorite crystals, and would certainly be gemmy enough to cut good-sized clean gemstones. No major damage to speak of but there is a bit of roughness in some spots. It's actually crystallized on the back, and nearly a complete "floater", which is rare for this material. I don't have to tell you how the value of Nagar Fluorites has risen over the years, and this is a nice example of this classic material from this famous Pakistani locality.
