The Rogerley Mine is certainly the greatest contemporary British Fluorite locality, producing not only a large number of specimens, but high quality colorful pieces. The iconic green hue of these cubic crystals makes them easily recognizable, and they show a beautiful purple fluorescence in sunlight (daylight fluorescence), which is a key characteristic of the material. This piece is a beautiful, GEMMY, sharp, lustrous, cubic crystal group showing classic "penetration twinning" on a cube diagonal axis, free of matrix. The majority of the crystals show that classic Rogerley green hue, but the center has a slight silvery-purple color. The display side of the piece is in very good shape, but the back is contacted where the piece was separated from the pocket wall. A very pleasing example of these renowned Fluorites from this prestigious locale.
