Fluorite (gemmy crystal) on Sphalerite

It's interesting to note that the prodigious Elmwood Mine in Tennessee is only known for producing a handful of mineral species, but they are still some of the most singular and easily recognizable specimens from any locality out there. The fine quality and beautiful Fluorite crystals from this mine are beloved by collectors for their impressive color, quality and size. Here we have a really attractive display piece featuring a prominent cube of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich purple colored Fluorite measuring 2.4 cm on edge along beautifully sitting atop reddish-brown "ruby jack" Sphalerite crystal matrix. When backlit, the Fluorite shows excellent internal gemminess. The Fluorite is in excellent condition, with no damage I can see with the naked eye, and the Sphalerites are actually a bit gemmy when strongly backlit. A beautiful specimen with such elegant crystal positioning and fine quality all around. Priced at $900.
