Item Description
The recent discoveries at the various mines of Huanggang Deposit produced fantastic Fluorites. The species is found in every color of the rainbow (including black and colorless), and this now famous deposit has given collectors green, blue, purple, pink and even COLORLESS examples going back to around 2009. This piece is a superb example of the colorless material featuring a group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, crystals showing a combination of cube and dodecahedral faces which are notably colorless and measure up to 3.3 cm on edge sitting atop bladed, silvery, metallic Lollingite (not Arsenopyrite) with a bit of attached black Magnetite and dark brownish-green Hedenbergite at the base. Looking closely, I don't see any real damage of note to the Fluorites as the areas on the back where it was separated from the pocket wall have healed ("re-healed") themselves, so they are complete all around as far I can see. A really good quality and aesthetic display piece from what will go down as some of the most iconic material from any Chinese locality. Valued in the inventory at $2,000.
