Here we have a very attractive example of the well-known contemporary Fluorite specimens from the Diana Maria Mine inside the Rogerley Mine (Quarry). These pieces are some of the most recognized examples of the species ever found for the quality, color and form. Collectors are lucky to have a wealth of good specimens that have come out over the last couple decades from this prestigious lead and iron mining district. Mining in the area dates back to the 13th century, so it's impressive that pieces are still coming out today! The vivid green color combined with the textbook cubic crystallization and showy display specimens make them highly desirable for collectors. This piece features a coverage sharp, lustrous, well-formed, beautiful green color, cubic crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm on edge, on matrix. The main twinned crystals (classic penetration twinning habit) on the piece are virtually WATER-CLEAR in clarity. The piece shows purple daylight fluorescence in sunlight, like many crystals from this locality. Very little damage, overall a lovely example of these fantastic Fluorites. Valued $1,750.
