Item Description
A fine, sharp, GEM QUALITY Fluorite showing interpenetrant twin on a cube-diagonal twinning axis (as often seen from this locality). This form is what makes these specimens so desirable from the English lead mines at Weardale. Good color saturation for the size, and the inside / "core" actually shows a soft silvery-lilac color, which is unusual in my experience with the material. The piece also shows the classic purple fluorescence that is often seen in Rogerley Fluorites. Minor roughness, but the sharp, lustrous faces and superb transparency makes it high quality Fluorite from any locality.
