Item Description

A fantastic example of a classic interpenetrant twin (on a cube-diagonal twinning axis) Fluorite from the famous Rogerley Mine. This beautiful twinning habit is what makes these specimens so desirable from the English lead mines at Weardale. The twin on this specimen is not only very sharp and well-formed, but it's WATER CLEAR with that beautiful "Rogerley green" color indoors that shifts to to the classic purple daylight fluorescence in sunlight. The main crystal measures 1.6 cm on edge, and while it's virtually undamaged, the surrounding area around the base / back of the piece is contacted, so the specimen is not 100% pristine. These are modern classics, and some of the most eye-catching Fluorites around The piece also shows the classic bright purple UV fluorescence that is often seen in Rogerley Fluorites.
