Fluorite (GEM "Spinel"-twin)

Item Description

A superb example of these beautiful and distinctive "Spinel"-twinned Fluorites from the Erongo Mountains in Namibia. Typically these twins are a bit more "broad" and flattened in their habit, but this piece is notably elongated, a rare style for the morphology. It's also a full-sized miniature, competition quality, and doubly-terminated to boot. Internally, the crystal is GEM QUALITY, showing a colorless hue inside with stark purple zoning on the exterior edges. Minor accenting Muscovite can be seen for a nice touch. No damage that I can find on the front/display side, and it's very close to being a complete "floater". A really choice and highly desirable Fluorite specimen from this famous specimen-producing part of Namibia. Valued $1,800 for quality, unique form and relative rarity on the market these days.
