Item Description

A fantastic, WATER-CLEAR, very sharp, well-formed combination cube / octahedron / dodecahedron of virtually colorless Fluorite from the famous Naica Mine. This locality is well-known for producing some fine quality attractive green Fluorites and even purple Fluorites, but to find a single sharp colorless gem like this is rare in my experience. BETTER IN PERSON - difficult to photograph the complete transparency. A wonderful thumbnail specimen for any Mexican collector or a fan of worldwide Fluorites. The piece is in good shape on the top / display side, but it's contacted underneath, so it's not completely damage free. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3470). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
