Fluorite (gem ''ice'' crystals)

Item Description

A lovely toenail sized specimen of the famous colorless "ice" Fluorites from Dalnegorsk. This piece features lovely, sharp, lustrous, GEMMY (virtually WATER-CLEAR) crystals measuring up to a full 3.0 cm with minor associated Quartz on the base. The larger Fluorite is highly modified, showing octahedral form with pronounced cubic faces and dozens if not hundreds of little modifying faces all over, but the smaller of the Fluorites is quite basic showing smooth distinct cubic and octahedral faces, with no other modifications I can see. The piece is in very good condition on the front, but it's not complete on the back. This classic material from Dalnegorsk is beloved by collectors as it's not common to find Fluorite without color from any locality. All of the various colors in Fluorite are caused by impurities to the chemistry, so this lack of color actually means this is chemically pure Fluorite. An impressive and really fine quality specimen of this fantastic material from the 2010 find. BETTER IN PERSON than the video indicates.
