Item Description
South Illinois Fluorites are some of the most recognizable representations from any locality in the United States. This piece features an intergrown group of sharp, GEM QUALITY, cubes which are predominantly blue in hue, but show beautiful purple "phantom" zoning in the center. The largest crystal measures 2.6 cm on edge. No genuine damage that I can find, as the areas that were once broken have recrystallized ("re-healed"), and even the underside of the specimen shows sign of recrystallization. This area is completely closed down and will never produce these specimens again, so don't miss out on this beautiful miniature of this world-famous material.
