Item Description

An outstanding old-time, CABINET, combination specimen from the famous fluorite mines of Hardin County and the Dennis Mullane Collection. This is a striking 3-sided specimen. The front features a splendent, 2.3 x 2.1 cm, complex galena cube flanked by glassy, very pretty, color-zoned violet, fluorite cubes and a cluster of smaller galena cubes. The matrix is COVERED with a multitude of scintillating, gem, golden-amber, sphalerite microcrystals! The back consists of: larger, color-zoned fluorite cubes: a fairly large area of glassy, colorless, small, fluorite cubes; scattered, moderate luster galena cubes; and a rich peppering of the tiny, gem, sphalerites. The side hosts a 6.3 cm vug of highly lustrous, large, rubyjack, sphalerites with zones of striking, red-orange gemminess and galena cubes above matrix coated with the tiny, gem sphalerites. This is definitely older and uncommon material, as you very seldom see combination specimens with this richness of two varieties of sphalerite. Value? We believe in the $500-750 range for size, richness and combination quality.
