Fluorite (fluorescent) w/ Quartz (old classic)

Item Description

Intergrown, gemmy to translucent, lustrous, light straw-yellow fluorite cubes with glass-clear to frosted faces are aesthetically mounded on this sculptural old-time plate from the famous mines at Weardale. The fine large cube is 2.1 x 1.9 cm and scattered tiny gemmy, bipyramidal quartz crystals on the top of this cube and adjacent cubes are a super accent. Purple fluorescence. The yellow color strongly suggests this fine piece is from the mines of the Stanhope area of Weardale. From an East Coast collection. Probably old material, but no proof.
