Item Description
Rich mint-green fluorite octahedrons nicely accented with sparkly bands of drusy quartz are densely intergrown on this very showy and rich mounded small cabinet from the Homestake Mine. The translucent octos, to 3.3 cm, have lustrous nubby, stepped-growth faces. Such pieces are considered to be among Arizona's finest fluorites and came out from 1999 to the mid-2000s. See the 2015 Mineralogical Record article in the Arizona-VI Special Issue, Vol. 46, No. 4. Purple fluorescence. A fine and rich example of the species and locale.
