Fluorite (fluorescent) w/ Celestine (Allen Dillwith Coll.)

Item Description

A sculptural and aesthetic matrix fluorite with celestine small cabinet from this famous Ohio locale. An imposing large 5.0 x 3.5 x 3.2 cube is jauntily set on the limestone matrix wedge and is strikingly accented with smaller fluorite cubes and with celestine on both the fluorites and the matrix. The classic Clay Center cubes have lustrous gemmy "phantoms" exhibiting a golden to root beer color. A side face of the large cube is contacted, but there is no damage, per se. A gently dinged corner to the top cube is also noted, but is certainly only a modest detraction. Ghostly white fluorescence. A showy, excellent, highly representative matrix fluorite and celestine combination from Clay Center from the Allen Dillwith Collection.
