Fluorite (fluorescent) on Siderite

Item Description

A classic, old-time Fluorite specimen from the Stolberg area in Germany, these fine, cubic Fluorites are gemmy and glassy with a watery, light-green tint. The largest crystal is 1.1 cm on edge, and the Fluorites rest on Siderite and matrix. I chose to lead off showing the very good fluorescence, which reveals a classic and sharp zoning within the Fluorites that is too subtle to discern in normal light. Probably at least 100 years old, this choice miniature is from the historic Harz Mountains, and was # 8619 in Kay's collection.
