Item Description

Beautiful pinkish-purple, sharp, translucent fluorite octahedrons, to 1.3 cm, with frosted faces are aesthetically clustered and isolated on the sculptural, etched quartz matrix from this classic New Mexico fluorite locality - the Judith Lynn Claim. Many of the octos have edge phantoms, which adds much character to the crystals and piece. I particularly like the dominating stacked cluster of octos on the piece, which is visible from both sides. A few crystals are contacted, which reveals contrasting and interesting green cores to the octos. Rich purple fluorescence. See the 1989 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 20, No. 1. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. A fine and showy 360-degree classic from the locale.
