The Nikolaevskiy Mine is renowned for its water-clear, gemmy Fluorites. Most people think of the colorless Fluorites, but there is a whole range of green Fluorites from here that are equally stunning (although most came out before the modern era and are not seen often). Many of these green Fluorites are sharp cubes, some with zoning, but few people realize that some of these resemble some of the great Chinese Fluorites. In other words, they are cubic and gemmy, but that have broadly stepped faces and beveled edges, as we see here. The color is a lovely, soft mint-green, and the outstanding luster helps bring out the details of the surfaces, as well as the gemminess. All rest on a matrix of well-formed Quartz crystals, both large (4 cm) and small (0.5 cm). Excellent fluorescence is a bonus! It has only very minor wear or damage, despite its size and age. This superb Fluorite is even better in person.It has a really special, bright pastel color to it. Valued $1000-1250
