Item Description

A RARE, striking and outstanding large combination from a NEW FIND at this obscure skarn-type Pb-Zn mine, where mining started in 2008 (MINDAT). MINDAT does not list fluorite, baryte or quartz from this boron-rich deposit. A beautiful, 5.0 cm on the diagonal, lustrous, transparent to translucent, blue-green fluorite octahedron with frosted faces and nifty edge phantoms is very aesthetically set in the large sculptural matrix. The matrix is drusy quartz, which has pseudomorphed large tabular to blocky baryte crystals. Broken edges reveal that some of the pseudos are epimorphs with partially hollow interiors. This super and rare combination displays dramatically from either direction. Bright purple fluorescence. Value? We feel $2000-3000 is fair.
