Fluorite (fluorescent) on Quartz

A striking and aesthetic combination from this famous mine. A beautifully placed, 4.0 cm fluorite cuboctahedron has pretty purple color, high luster, translucence and surreal dense, stepped-growth faces. The 7 mm, color-zoned cube is a super accent, as is oxide tinting to the quartz points. The bit of noted periphery wear to the quartz is certainly only a modest detraction to this very fine example. The sides and back have been prepared to enhance the outstanding display quality of this piece. Common 7-10 years ago, supplies have dried up and disappeared, with very little new material coming out. This is a most excellent example, that glows when backlit. Rich purple fluorescence.
