Fluorite (fluorescent) on Quartz

Fluorite specimens from the famous Shangbao Mine are a Chinese classic. Yet, this very showy combination plate has a most unusual look to the fluorites. The bi-colored purple, translucent, cuboctahedrons have a distinctive strange-looking form, having intensely stepped-growth faces and highly modified etched form. The fluorites rest on an undulating plate of quartz points dominated by the 2.4. cm obelisk. This striking large piece displays well from either side and is pristine. Purple fluorescence.
