Fluorite (fluorescent) on Galena

Exceptionally large (so large, in fact, that I couldn't even take a hand shot), this combination piece features complex, stepped cubes of gemmy, mint-green Fluorite resting on an undulating plate of integrown Galena crystals. These clear Fluorites have excellent, glassy luster and a light, lavendar-blue fluorescence. Please note that a few of the Fluorite corners have been repaired (corners often fracture off, and can be glued back on, cleanly). The Galena plate that comprises the matrix is rather amazing, as it is comprised of hundreds, if not thousands, of conjoined Galena dodecadrons. The metallic luster on these is very good, and the combination of the two is impressive. This came out at least four decades ago, and it is considerally better in person. Significant and historic !
