Item Description
A classic, showy and richly colored large green fluorite plate from this well-known extinct mine. The very glassy, translucent, stepped-growth cubes, to 3.5 cm, are a rich fern-green. The cubes have a pretty light shimmering iridescence and the green color really stands out, when the piece is backlit. Purple fluorescence. A very fine example from this locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3127 and probably acquired in the 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
