Item Description

A showy, unusual, CABINET cluster of fluorite octahedrons from the famous William Wise Mine and the Schlichter Collection. The octos are composed of multi-generational fluorite with varying shades of green, quality and textures. Most of the lightly etched/frosted octos are light sea foam-green. Some faces have a strange-looking, second generation of preferential overgrowth of pastel-green, drusy fluorite. A few places have a third generation of very glassy, nearly colorless fluorite. This is certainly one of the more unusual Wise Mine fluorites I have seen. It highlights distinctively variable fluorite chemistry during crystal formation! A highly representative and unusual example from this noted locale. Pretty light purple fluorescence.
