Item Description
A wonderful, old-time, fluorite specimen from the famous Boltsburn Mine at Weardale. The striking, 3.5 x 3.0 x 2.7 cm, cube is jauntily angled in another fluorite crystal as a penetrating twin. The highly lustrous cube has two, supremely water-clear faces, that reveal that the cube is actually colorless, but glows with classic rich deep purple fluorescence under any light! Two display faces are frosted. Another, classic, small penetration twin is noted on a water-clear face. This classic cube is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very trivial edgewear. SUPERIOR purple fluorescence, as you would expect. This historic mine closed in 1931. Ex Brent Lockhart Collection and comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $120, for free. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
