Superb Fluorite specimen from the famed Judith Lynn Claim in New Mexico (see the Mineralogical Record, Vol. 20, #1, cover) with small but sharp gem-like crystals. The octahedral Fluorites, which range up to 5 mm, are zoned, highly translucent, and they have a lovely, rich blue fluorescence. The arrangement of the crystals on the Quartz matrix in nothing less than exquisite, with a teton-like range along the top accented by an equally aesthetic set of foothills below. If you've ever collected there, you know how difficult it is to get specimens out of the narrow seams that exist within the granite. A great miniature!
