Item Description
An sculptural and RARE combination plate from a New Find at this obscure Chihuahua mine. Fluorite is rare from here. Lustrous, translucent, yellowish-green fluorite cubes have satiny luster and are aesthetically intergrown with clusters of glassy, pearlescent creamy barite blades. The stepped-growth faces give a nice 3-dimensional aspect to the cubes, to 1.4 cm, on this excellent and rare small cabinet combination. The plate is covered with oxide-coated nubby quartz, adding contrast. Bright blue-purple fluorescence. Valued at $200 by well-known Mexico specialist and author, Dr. Peter Megaw.
