Item Description
William Wise Fluorites might be the most famous Fluorites from any locality in New England, with their seldom-matched, bright green color instantly recognizable. Finding a two-color Fluorite from the Wise Mine is most unusual, and the softly-frosted luster gives the gemmy Fluorite an aesthetic that is so easy on the eyes. Brilliant two-toned fluorescence adds even more to the allure. Fluorite mining here started ca. 1890's and closed about 1919, and has been worked intermittently for specimens since that time. These classic and highly desired specimens are well-known among collectors for the excellent form, size, rich color, and gemminess. ex George Elling Collection.
