Item Description

The quarries of Eastgate, particularly the Blue Circle Cement Quarry, are known for their attractive, beautifully zoned Fluorites. The penetration twins (well, in this case, triplets) are sharp, the luster is good, and the color is a nice, gemmy green. The phantoms tend to be purple, well-defined, and as often seen at Blue Circle, offset. Of course, the fluorescence is excellent, which is to be expected since English Fluorites lent their name to the word 'fluorescence'. One aspect of these crystals that I particularly like are the 'double-beveled' edges, a modification not often seen. On the whole, this is a choice, highly representative specimen.
