Item Description

Obscure Kuiu Island in Alaska has produced some very fine, though small fluorites over the years. Some are octahedral or as in this case, sharp very distinct cubes. This line of crystals snakes along an attractive, sculptural, drusy quartz matrix, and the largest crystal is 9 mm. The luster is silky and beautiful, giving the gemmy, pastel green-gray, crystals a definite, eye-catching pearly glow. This unusual piece was collected at the surf line of the island, as there are barnacles attached to the bottom of the piece. Geology and biology together and very rare from this locale! Purple fluorescence. Ex Al Ordway Collection # 925. Al paid $70 for this unique piece.
