Fluorite (fine color) with Calcite

Item Description

This is a gorgeous Fluorite from a fairly recent discovery at the famed Yaogangxian Mine. The vivid color is not commonly seen from this locality, and I'm told this pocket (from 2021) was isolated, and no more have been found. This colorful and eye-catching cabinet sized display specimen hosts a handful of sharp, well-formed, beautiful cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 4.2 cm on edge with a rich Caribbean blue-green hue. You can see there is a very slight purple color zoning on the outermost edges of the crystals. The Fluorites are highlighted by a partial coverage of beautiful little white "poker chip" Calcite crystals. No major damage to the central portion of the specimen, but it's contacted in a few spots around the periphery where it was separated from the rest of the pocket. The Yaogangxian Mine is one of the iconic localities for Fluorite in China, which is really saying something considering how many places have produced great Fluorite specimens over the past 20+ years from this country. Don't miss out on this beauty, few like it were found, and at this point, I can't say for certain if there will be more.
