Fluorite, Ferberite, Quartz, & Muscovite

Item Description

Strikingly sculptural and classic combination from the famous Yaogangxian Mine of China. The dramatic focal point of the lustrous, parallel-growth spearpoint ferberite blades at the top is aesthetically enhanced by the balanced location of the fluorite cubes, quartz crystals, terminated ferberite blade and muscovite rosettes. The fluorite cubes are gemmy with bright satin luster faces. The upper left 2.3 cm cube is a light pastel-green. The lower left cubes, to 3.3 cm and the cube at the base of ferberites are a light pastel-blue. The glassy, transparent to translucent terminated quartz crystal is 5.7 cm long. Preferential muscovite rosettes are a fine and typical accessory and complement. Bruising is noted to the tips of the ferberite blades and the blade on the right side of the cluster is broken. The fluorites, quartz and secondary ferberite are in great shape. Purple fluorite fluorescence. A most impressive, well-composed combination from the well-known locale. Better in person, the gemminess and luster of the fluorite cubes obscured their true color during photography. We believe this is from 1990s production.
