Fluorite (excellent gemmy crystals) on Quartz

In the modern age of mineral collecting, no country has produced more fine quality Fluorites in a relatively short period of time than China. There are a few mines that stand out as the top tier producers, and the famous Yaogangxian Mine has given collectors some of the finest quality Fluorite specimens of any locality in China. This piece came out in the early 2000s, and is a great example of these world-class Fluorites. This beautiful display specimen features a pair of excellent composite groups of sharp, very lustrous, well-formed, multi-color (blue and purple and) "phantom" cubes of Fluorite with fine internal gemminess! The largest Fluorite group measures 2.8 cm at its widest dimension, and they are sitting on superb, sharp, colorless water clear prismatic crystals of Quartz, and accented by small white Calcite crystals. It is not terribly common to find Fluorite crystal groups of this size with such superb clarity like this from Yaogangxian, especially on matrix like this. I can't find any real damage on either the front or back of the piece. My FAVORITE aspect of the specimen is the fact that it sits so beautifully on its own without the aid of a base or clay! You would be hard-pressed to find another Fluorite of this size and quality from Yaogangxian on the market for sale, and it's certainly a must have for any fan of Chinese minerals or worldwide Fluorites. These pieces are certainly now considered classics, and will go down as some of the most impressive Fluorite specimens from any world locality. Priced at $3,000 in our inventory.
