Item Description

A matrix of massive fluorite is the host for lustrous and translucent elongated cubes, to 3.5 cm across, of lavender/purple fluorite. The fluorite crystals all exhibit distinct, darker, color zoning inside. Scattered about are crystals of "ruby jack" sphalerite, to 1 cm across along with one or two matte luster, battleship-gray crystals of galena, to 4 mm across. Minor damage to a few fluorite crystals is present but this does not severely detract from the overall quality. Old material, probably from the earlier mining in the district.
