Item Description
A gorgeous display specimen of Fluorite from the famous Annabel Lee Mine. The piece is features a few large, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, mulitcolor (blue, purple and golden) "phantom" cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 4.2 cm. The piece comes from the collection of Ross Lillie (# RCL1078), and his label states that it was mined in November of 1989 from the "Poe" pod by Larry Humm. The habit of the Fluorite crystals is described by Lillie as having "modified textural growth on surfaces", and he mentions that the piece is a "fine, clean displayable specimen". It's certainly a great quality overall piece from this famous locality in southern Illinois. A great piece to add to your collection, especially if you collect Fluorites, Southern Illinois specimens, or pieces with fine crystals. Valued originally at $850, and now I think more in today's market.
