Item Description
A rarely seen Fluorite specimen from the Castle Dome District in the southwest corner of Arizona. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the specimen is the fact that the color of the Fluorite crystals grades from a soft green hue to a notable purple shade. Overall, the piece is mostly a reference specimen as several of the crystals are not complete, but a few of them are, and show sharp cubic faces with good gemminess and luster. The largest cube measures 1.0 cm on edge and a few of them even show a slight "phantom" effect. An unknown greenish-brown mineral is seen on the specimen as well (Pyromorphite?). It is difficult to say which mine or claim the piece is from, as there are dozens in the area, but it is certainly uncommon to see these Fluorites on the market, and the piece would make a great addition to a Fluorite reference collection, or a suite of Arizona minerals.
